From the last week of July 2017, we started construction of our third school this year in Ndatho farm in Subukia area of Nakuru, Kenya.
The school aims to bring in students from Ndatho IDP’s resettlement farm as well as those from the surrounding communities since the IDP community is in closer proximity to existing communities than in previous areas we have built schools. Children from the 90 Ndatho IDP resettlement families and other people from the areas will attend this school when it is launched in mid October 2017 during this year’s donor trip.
As of right now, eight classrooms are currently going up simultaneously while the community is chipping in by digging the pits for the latrines/toilets. The school site is a maze of activities as everybody is working hard to have the school ready for the launch date.
From there we will start working on registration and organizing for student enrollment to begin. We are looking forward to the completion of this school!
