Our Schools
Built on Partnership
Powered by Purpose
We don’t just support schools—we help build them from the ground up. In collaboration with the Government of Kenya and local communities, Village Impact has co-created spaces where education thrives. We currently work with 15 schools across Nakuru County, serving over 6,000 students every day. Each one is a living example of what’s possible when communities, educators, and changemakers unite for a brighter future.
The full renovation and reconstruction of our 16th school is underway as of January 2025.

Why Many Primary Schools in Kenya Are Now Called “Comprehensive”
You may have noticed a new term in our descriptions and updates: Comprehensive Schools. It’s more than a name change—it reflects a powerful shift in Kenya’s education system, and it directly impacts the way Village Impact supports students.
Kenya has rolled out a new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), designed to foster real-world skills, creative thinking, and lifelong learning from the earliest grades. As part of this transformation, students now remain in the same school from Grade 1 through Grade 9—covering both primary and the newly introduced junior secondary levels.
Instead of transitioning to a different school after Grade 6, learners continue in a familiar environment that nurtures their confidence, connection, and continuity in learning.
That’s why many of the schools with whom we partner are now being called Comprehensive Schools—because they offer a fuller, more cohesive educational journey under one roof.
For students and families, this means more stability. Deeper relationships with teachers. A stronger sense of community. And more time to grow in a supportive space.
And for partners like you, it means your impact now extends even further—reaching students not just in their foundational years, but as they step into adolescence, leadership, and lifelong possibilities.
The name might be new, but the mission hasn’t changed: and we’re still here to build bright futures through education.
